House, Senate Leaders say income tax issue needs further study

 

The Oklahoman on Friday reported that legislative leaders want to be very cautious about cutting the state’s income tax rate.

 

“We should take a methodical, logical approach, a systematic approach,” House Speaker Kris Steele said.

If you do away with the income tax, this would put more money in the people's hands to use on goods and services. More money spent on goods and services means a better economy. A better economy means more people working and less being spent on unemployment insurance claims, food stamps, and welfare. Also, think of the man hours saved in processing tax returns? The tax comes back in the form of sales tax and corporate tax. There are some good things that could come out of this.
