Governor Brad Henry prepares to tape a television commercial at OPEA headquarters

Governor Brad Henry made a surprise visit to OPEA headquarters recently to tape a new television commercial for the upcoming fall elections.

Henry was accompanied by Corporation Commissioner and OPEA member Jim Roth, who is running for re-election.

The Governor met with OPEA staff before settling in to the office of the Executive Director to tape the commercial, in which he endorses Roth.

“It was a nice surprise having the Governor in-house,” said Sterling Zearley, OPEA Executive Director.  “It’s been quite a while since a governor has been here, and we certainly enjoyed welcoming him to our offices."

Roth has been taping a number of television ads recently, including former OU coach Barry Switzer and Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel, in addition to Governor Henry.  Look for the ads to begin airing statewide in October.
