OPEA Chapter Formed in Tulsa State Office Building

The inaugural meeting of the Tulsa State Office Building OPEA Chapter took place on August 5, 2010. “This meeting is just one step to how powerful the chapter can become,” stated newly elected Chapter President Cory Scheer. “If all state employees who work in both the Edmondson and Kerr building come together and participate in OPEA, the Tulsa legislators will have no choice but to listen to our concerns.”

The members present discussed several goals of the Chapter including attending the annual OPEA convention, hosting legislative forums and recruitment of more OPEA members. All present agreed OPEA is providing the resources for all state employees working in the building to come together and make changes in status of public employees.

Future meetings of the chapter will be held on the third Friday of every month at 9:00 A.M. in the third floor conference room of the Edmondson Building. All state employees who work in both the Kerr and Edmondson Buildings are encouraged to attend and may contact Cory Scheer or Haley Blood  if they have any questions.
