OPEA Member Ridley Named New Transportation Secretary

 

 

ODOT Director and new Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley with Lt. Governor Jari Askins as a recent benefit in Oklahoma City

 

Long-time OPEA member and ODOT Director Gary Ridley has been named secretary of transportation by Governor Brad Henry.

 

Henry named Ridley to the cabinet position Friday after accepting the resignation of Transportation Secretary Phil Tomlinson.

 
Ridley is a registered professional engineer and has been with ODOT since the 1960s, taking over as agency director in 2001.

Ridley will remain ODOT director and assume his cabinet secretary duties immediately. The post requires Senate confirmation.
