Popcorn A Big Hit

POPCORN A BIG HIT!

OPEA’s Nancy Hughes and Rachelle Johnson got the opportunity on Wednesday, September 19 to interact with state employees at the annual Vendors Voluntary Payroll Deduction seminar held on the second floor of the state capitol.

Employees from various agencies came by the OPEA table for a fresh bag of popcorn and a friendly smile from two OPEA staff that are usually in the office taking members phone calls and addressing their needs.

“It was exciting to be able to see state employees and put a face with a voice in some cases,” said Nancy Hughes.” It really makes a person feel good to have state employees say thank you for all you guys do for us.”

Rachelle stated she can see clearer the importance of this association getting back to the grassroots where it was founded.

“All people want is to know they have someone going to bat for them and trying to make their hard work pay the bills.” she said.

Together, the team signed ten new members. State Representative Mike Shelton assisted with signing one of the ten.
