Save The Dates for OPEA’s “Speak Out For State Employees” Day At The Capitol

The OPEA Board of Directors approved two OPEA “Rally Days” at the capitol for the next session. These days are state employees’ chance to visit with their legislators and let them know what is important to the men and women who make state services possible. These days are a great way to communicate with the lawmakers who impact your paycheck, work conditions and retirement.

The first “Speak Out For State Employees” day will be April 7th. We encourage members from regions six, seven, eight, nine, ten and eleven to attend on this date, but all members are welcome.

The second date is April 21st and will feature regions one, two, three, four and five. Planning is also in the works for “retiree days” and those dates will be announced soon.

OPEA staff will be present to assist members in finding and communicating with their legislators and lunch will be provided. State employees must use annual leave to attend these days since lobbying on state time is not allowed.

If you would like more information, please contact Trish Frazier at OPEA. We will keep you updated on our website and through OPEA’s Facebook page. Make plans now to attend at least one of these days.
