Two bills that would drastically reduce state employee health insurance benefits are on the House agenda to be heard today. The bills were changed in committee on last Thursday to freeze the state employee benefit allowance and remove language requiring that state employees are offered the same insurance plans and premiums as education employees. In addition, these bills remove state employees from the pool used to blend retiree rates and could increase the cost of insurance on pre-Medicare retirees. To take action click here.
