Your Voice Was Heard!

The week before OPEA Day at the Capitol, OPEA issued a call to action for OPEA members to ask their legislators to oppose HB 1003, which would have decimated the state employee retirement plan.

OPEA has learned that member visits and calls have made a difference! HB 1003 has been stopped and will not advance to the floor of the House.

Thanks to OPEA members for their quick response to this issue. This legislative session is one of the most active for state employee issues and your help is critical between now and the end of May. Good job everyone. We have won this battle, but not yet the war on state employees.

By the way, whatever happened with that State Employee Retention Task Force in the previous administration? lol

What's the status of SB812, I can't get any Senator to give me an answer, they seem to side step it. I see it went through the 2nd reading and is in appropriations but does it have a chance of passing?
