The Office of Management and Enterprise Services has issued a memo clarifying the use of leave for persons who were injured during the storms, had a relative or household member injured or killed by the storms or had their, or a relative’s, home damaged or destroyed. The memo can be found here.
Employees may be granted administrative leave and enforced leave if they are affected by the disaster as described above. Employees may also be eligible to receive shared leave in accordance with policy. Employees should work with their office’s human resources staff to ensure they received the appropriate leave. We anticipate that state agencies should be understanding toward their fellow employees who have suffered loss at this time.
