Compensation Meeting Scheduled To Hear Pay Issues

Interim Studies on state employee compensation will be tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in room 432A at the Capitol. Two studies, Interim Study 13-009, Comprehensive look at State employee compensation and a change to a performance based system by Rep. Leslie Osborn  was combined with Interim Study 13-087, State employee/educator pay and benefits compared to private sector jobs by Rep. Joe Dorman. OPEA, including OPEA President Jess Callahan and OPEA Board Member Mike Rogers, will speak at the meeting to emphasize the need to improve employee compensation this year. We also know that the state employee compensation issue cannot be fixed by just shifting benefits to salaries. The study that was conducted this fall has not yet been released to the public. It is scheduled to be released later this month.

Audio from the meeting can be heard online at  Room 432A
