OPEA was fortunate to attend Friday’s graduation ceremony in McAlester for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections cadets who recently completed training. These officers will work at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester helping to watch over some of Oklahoma’s most dangerous offenders.
The men and women who entered the ceremony as candidates and left as officers and their peers across Oklahoma deserve our thanks, prayers and support. They especially deserve a living wage and OPEA will continue to fight to see that all state employees’ compensation is improved this year. Congrats and best wishes to these new officers.
