TULSA, Oklahoma –

State employees are also walking out starting Monday morning at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City.

Several Oklahoma Department of Public Safety driver’s license locations are closed Monday, April 2. The agency tells News On 6 the closings are due to employees attending the rally at the capitol.

Altus, Broken Arrow, Bartlesville, Guymon, Ponca City and Stillwater offices are closed, according to DPS. Other driver’s license stations are operational but may be at reduced staffing.

Oklahoma Public Employees Association protests that “the pay raise the legislature just passed won’t even cover the health insurance increases you’ve had to eat every year for the last five years! And it definitely won’t help your agency recruit and retain the additional employees you so desperately need to help you get the job done.”

State employees will be wearing blue as they march at the capitol.
