We understand that modernizing the merit protection system is an uneasy time for employees. OPEA formed the job protections and due process associated with classified state service. We wouldn’t make efforts to change the system unless it was necessary. That is why we took great care when making the necessary steps to modernize the system. While OPEA staff has well over 100 years of service to the state of Oklahoma we recognize our weaknesses. So, we hired the best labor attorney in Oklahoma to help represent state employees throughout the development of the new rules. December 9th at noon join us on Facebook live to ask our lawyer Chelsea Smith questions about the new rules and how they will impact your due process rights.
