Gov. Fallin signed Oklahoma’s general appropriation bill today providing funds for state agencies for SFY2015 including money for the targeted pay raises. It also provides the operating funds for state government for the next fiscal year. OPEA is still waiting for signature on the other bills that will require that no benefit changes be done until after an additional $60 million is appropriated for pay increases.
Earlier she signed the pension bill into law that requires that future employees participate in a defined contribution pension system rather than the current defined benefit system. That bill does not change the pension system for current employees or retirees.
