OPEA Retiree and OPEAPAC Trustee Larry Kelley was this week appointed by Governor Brad Henry to fill a term on the Oklahoma Merit Protection Commission.
“Larry was this association’s nominee and we were thrilled when the appointment came through,” said OPEA executive director Sterling Zearley. “OPEA feels that it is of the utmost importance that nominees with state employee experience are selected for this very important position.”
Kelley will be one of nine members who sit in final judgment over state employee grievances and other employment issues.
“I am anxious to roll up my sleeves and get to work,” Kelley said. “I am flattered the Governor had this faith in me and I plan to be very fair and conscientious.”
