It’s the final week of voting for OPEA’s Board of Directors, and only a small percentage of members have cast their ballots.
Members in Regions 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 may vote this week on a new director or directors to represent them on the Board.
Region 4 includes counties: Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray, Pontotoc and Seminole.
Region 5 is Oklahoma County.
Region 6 includes: Cleveland, Garvin, McClain, Pottawatomie.
Region 8 includes: Creek and Tulsa.
Region 9 includes: Adair, Cherokee, Delaware, Mayes, Ottawa, Wagoner.
No elections are necessary in Regions 1, 2, 3, 7, and 10 as the candidates are running unopposed. No candidates filed for Region 11, so the Board will appoint a director for that region.
Retirees in Regions 1 and 2 have cast the most ballots, with an impressive 30 percent return.
However, only 10 percent of OPEA members in Regions 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 have voted in an election which will ultimately shape the future of the organization. Votes may be cast by mail, phone or internet through 5 pm Friday, January 29th. If you have misplaced your ballot or did not receive one, phone VRS Election Services at 1.800.218.4026.
Please know voting by phone or internet will save OPEA considerable money on postage.
Don’t delay…help shape OPEA’s future by voting for your candidate today.
