Next OPEA Lobby Day: April 4th – Advocate For Yourself, Your Family & Your Coworkers

Please save Tuesday, April 4th as a time to come to the capitol and tell lawmakers you need a pay raise this year and they must raise revenue to fund it. We still hear discussions of a teacher pay raise but improving state employee pay is just as important to our state. OPEA uses lobby days to meet individually with lawmakers so they can clearly hear you about the need to improve pay. This is another challenging year but the need to improve pay is more critical than ever.

If you’d like, you can come to the OPEA offices at 11:45 for a pizza lunch and briefing then go to capitol at 1 p.m. where we’ll regroup on the 4th floor. OPEA staff and leadership will be there to help you connect with your representatives. If you work in the OKC area and just want to come over to the capitol at 1 p.m., we’d love to have you. For those planning on attending, please call or email your representative before April 4th and let them know that they can expect a visit from you and other OPEA members.

If you don’t know your legislators, now is a great time to introduce yourself. You can go to the Oklahoma State Legislature website and find your representatives. If you have questions or need to RSVP to OPEA, send us an email, contact your OPEA Regional Director or give us a call at (405) 524-6264. Please help tell your story as a state employee.
