State employees in Oklahoma haven’t received a pay raise in six years. During that time, the cost of living has shot up and those paychecks are even smaller now. This upcoming legislative session, OPEA is focused on getting state employees performance pay raises and setting up a plan to even out public sector salaries compared to their private sector counterparts.
OETA has caught wind of this and interviewed our executive director, Sterling Zearley, to highlight the problem of how and how much state employees are paid. It will be a package story on the Oklahoma News Report tonight at 7 p.m. on OETA.
