OPEA Asks Agencies To Hold Off On Raising Directors’ Pay

OPEA has sent a letter to all state agency boards and commissions asking them not to increase their directors’ pay until after all employees’ compensation is considered. A recently-released study showed new recommendations for directors pay and OPEA believes that it is important that agencies not act on the recommendations until after the study of all staff compensation is released so that all of the information can be taken into consideration before pay decisions are made. The overall compensation study with a companion interim legislative study  is scheduled to be completed this fall in time for potential legislation to be written to implement the recommendations of the study.

OPEA also prepared and sent a media release to Oklahoma media outlets regarding the directors’ salary recommendations.
