OPEA Bill Requiring Furlough Notice Heads to Governor’s Desk

House Bill 2724, sponsored by Representative Scott Inman, D-Del City, and Senator Greg Childers, R- Del City, requires each state agency to give 30-day written notice to any employee who will be furloughed. Additionally, the bill requires agencies to include in the notice any further furlough information regarding the length of furlough time.

The bill will now proceed to Governor Mary Fallin’s office for her consideration; she is expected to sign the bill into law.
