The heat is on as the “OPEA Express” heads into is in its third week, rolling into towns across the southeastern part of Oklahoma. What’s being hailed as one of the most successful membership drives in the Association’s history has already netted well over 100 new members in just two weeks.
“I am looking forward to this leg of the journey,” said OPEA Executive Director Sterling Zearley. “I grew up in Poteau, so this is like going home for me. We are hitting Poteau this week, as well as Heavener, McAlester, Antlers and towns all throughout the southeastern part of the state.”
Zearley and his team will be holding meetings all week, including a Tuesday pizza lunch at the DHS office in Noble, with Representative Scott Martin attending. Friday, a luncheon will be held at the Howard McLeod Correctional Center near Farris, Oklahoma, with state Representative Paul Roan in attendance.
