OPEA members attended a ceremonial bill signing today for the two bills (SB 2131 and HB 3293) that enacted provided for the targeted pay raises and beginning changes to Oklahoma’s state employee compensation system. These bills along with legislation passed that says no benefit reductions will be made until after $60 million is appropriated for salaries is the start to improving state employee pay. There will be more work that needs to be done next session to improve all state employee compensation.
