The Board of Corrections has selected Robert Patton as the new director of the Department of Corrections today. Patton was most recently Director of Offender Operations for the corrections department in Arizona.
Information about him from the Arizona corrections’ website says Patton started with the department in 1985 and is a Navy veteran. He has served in various capacities like sergeant, lieutenant, captain, assistant deputy warden, deputy warden and warden. He briefly retired in 2005 but returned to the department in 2006. He was selected as the Deputy Director for Offender Operations in 2009.
