Proposed OPEA Bylaws Changes To Be Considered During Delegate Assembly

OPEA’s bylaws are eligible to be reviewed and revised every three years and 2019 is an OPEA bylaws review year.. Bylaws serve as the foundation for OPEA policies and actions.

The following two changes have been approved for consideration by delegates at this year’s Delegate Assembly, August 23rd and 24th at Sequoyah State Park.

These proposed changes have been reviewed by the OPEA bylaws committee  and are published here for review by all members.

  1.  Removal of Section Seven, Clause Two ( Employee No Strike Provision)
  2. Allowing the addition of a board member from a partnering organization

The Association’s bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the eligible members voting at this year’s delegate assembly. If there is a question concerning the interpretation, legality or application of the member’s suggested changes, those changes shall be submitted to the Association’s retained law firm for an opinion. To be eligible to vote on proposed changes at the delegate assembly, the voter must have been a dues-paying member prior to June 1, 2019.
