SB2120 passed out of committee. Thanks to Sen. Ivester and Sen. Ballenger for voting no. Despite what the bill’s author says, this new pension system will not attract the “Best and Brightest” because state employees salaries remain so low. If they want to keep and attract the best workers, salaries must improve, bottom line. OPEA will be sending out information about the bill’s next step. We will continue to fight for improved pay and against bad legislation.
