Senate Passes State Employee Pay Raise

HB 1024XX is now headed to the Governor’s desk for her signature.

Again, this bill provides for the following: a $2000 increase on July 1, 2018, for all state employees earning less than $40,000 per year.  $1500 for those earning less than $50k but more than $40k.  $1000 for those earning less than $60k but more than $50k and $750 for those earning more than $60k per year.

The bill doesn’t do nearly enough and doesn’t come close to what our ask was ($2500 across-the-board for 3 years).  That, plus the fact that many state agencies remain in financial peril and staffing woes will continue to plague them, is why we still plan to be at the Capitol on April 2nd.

See you there!
