OPEA staffer Brandon Watkins is leaving his position as Membership Representative, effective January 21 to pursue other endeavors.
“We are sad to lose Brandon, but respect his decision and wish him much success,” said OPEA Executive Director Sterling Zearley. “Brandon has logged thousands of miles on the road for OPEA, and has worked diligently to further our goals.”
Watkins joined the Association in June 2008, and had previously worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, where he was a Social Services Specialist II.
“I believe firmly in OPEA’s mission,” Watkins said. “If I return to state employment, OPEA will be the first organization I join. While I’ve been on the road for OPEA the past couple of years, I think my passion has shown through, at least I hope it has. I hope all state employees take a look at what we do here and get on board to make OPEA the strongest it’s ever been,” Watkins said.
Until a new membership representative is hired to replace Watkins, members are asked to phone OPEA offices for questions regarding future recruitment drives.
